What you need to know about the SuperMineral: Magnesium

Magnesium is the 8th most abundant mineral in the world, and the fourth most abundant in our bodies. Every single one of our cells require magnesium to function properly. Two of our vital organs need it the most: our brain and our heart. Deficiency has been linked to various adverse health outcomes including cardiovascular problems, hypertension, forms of diabetes and headaches.

Magnesium is also key to bone growth as well as turning what we eat into energy.

The good news is that there's a lovely, relaxing, easy way for us to top up our Magnesium levels. It's by having a nice, long bath.

We love Magnesium Flakes. You just chuck a good handful into a tub of warm water – add a drop of lavender oil too if you want to make it even more relaxing, then soak for 20 minutes or more.

Magnesium is one of the unique elements that the body can absorb through it's skin. Often this is a more effective way of topping up your levels than taking a supplement as some of our bodies find it hard to process it internally.

So light some candles, have a lovely long mindful bath, and let your body do all the hard work for you!
